Sammy's Rockin' Island in Roseville was rocking with laughter last night (see what I did there?).  I hosted, Real Housewife of Rio Linda, Kristen Frisk, did an awesome feature set, Mike E. Winfield stopped in for a guest set and then Jason Resler closed the show with huge laughs. 

I forgot to mention that Empresso Coffee House hosts the open mic in Stockton every other Tuesday and they have this cold brew drip coffee system that is really cool looking and makes amazing coffee. It kept me wide awake all the way home. I want one at home. It looks like Science Bitch:

I had a challenging show last week in Marysville. They audience was all ages, from young kids to retired couples, and everything in between. Usually I try to tailor my jokes to the audience, to what I think they'll relate to. But with such a diverse audience, it's a lot harder. Turned out to be a great show. All the comics did great and the audience really seemed to enjoy everyone. Lots of fun. I won't be so worried next time I have that type of situation.

Last night I did two open mics, first one in Stockton. It's in a coffee shop, so again, a different kind of audience. The host, Jimmie Menezes does a good job of getting people out for the show, I've only done it a couple times but it's been good both times and it...

The first episode is pretty rough, technical issues ... but, it's a start and I think it will be a fun series. The idea is that we all have a lot more in common than we might think at first sight. I pick up contestants and they win money as we discover our common interests and views.

I'll be at Sammy's Rockin Island Bar and Grill this Wednesday 9/11/13 with Emma Haney, Bryant Tarpley, and headliner Steph Garcia. They're running comedy every Wednesday and it's free if you buy a meal. They have great food and drinks and it's a great place to see a show. So come out and say "hi".
